Our Infants Department consists of two classes: Form 1 and Form 2. There is a maximum of 22 pupils in a class unless there are exceptional circumstances. Our main aim at this stage is to provide your child with fun, interactive and exciting lessons which will stimulate their minds and ignite a love of learning.

Form 1 and 2 pupils spend much of the day with their class teacher, although even at this early stage, subject specialists teach Music, French, Art, ICT and Physical Education. Regular educational trips and visits to farms, museums and zoos support and extend our academic curriculum, as do classroom visits from authors, professionals and musicians.

Personal, social and emotional development is actively promoted within the Department, and children are encouraged to care for others both at school and within the wider local community.

Teachers operate an ‘open door’ policy whereby parents can email or arrange to speak to teachers whenever the need arises. Formal feedback of progress is through three reports during the year, regular parents’ evenings and half-termly newsletters.
