Take a Closer Look at our Facilities

St David’s School is on one site in a residential, tree-lined road in Purley.

Within a two minute walk we have our own playing field, tennis courts and sports pavilion which are in use all the year round. We are extremely proud of our all-weather multi-purpose games area and the astro-turf football pitch. The pavilion not only provides an additional teaching space to teach tactics, but enables us to host our home matches with traditional end of match teas.

Within the main building there are eight classrooms, Nursery to Form 6, where the children have their lessons. All classrooms have an IT workstation and interactive touch smart screens, which the children use as part of their learning.

In January 2020 the school underwent a large extension to the rear and a total refurbishment. The school now benefits from:

  • a newly fitted out Art and Design Technology Room where all practical subjects, including science, can be taught
  • a bespoke ICT suite, where the children are able to learn and advance their keyboard skills and computer knowledge
  • a large dedicated Music Room for class and peripatetic music lessons
  • an enlarged and enhanced Early Years provision, which gives the early years children more space and facilities including a dedicated kitchen area for them to cook.

St David’s employs Thomas Franks, a highly regarded specialist catering company, to prepare nutritious well-balanced menus for the children. All food is freshly prepared in our kitchen and the children have a cooked lunch unless there are specific medical reasons for non-participation. All religious, dietary needs and allergens are catered for.

We have a large Hall which is not only used for daily assemblies, but also PE lessons, lunch, dance, gymnastics and after school activities.

There are two playground areas where Infants and Juniors play separately on a variety of equipment, supervised by the teaching and support staff

“St David’s is a school with good old-fashioned values which brings out the best in every child”
