ISA Table Tennis Report

On the 1st February 2017, two teams participated in the ISA National Table Tennis competition. It was held at Sherfield School, Fleet, Hampshire, and it was the first time that St David’s had entered this tournament. There were about 64 competitors from around 10 different schools. Our teams played in both the singles and doubles competition. Dylan, Aaryan, Jacob and I played up an age group, in the U13s, with James, Deji, Ben and Akal playing in U11s.

In the U13s singles competition myself, Aaryan and Jacob all qualified for the knockout stage of the Cup. Unfortunately Jacob and I lost close games to the boy who won the competition overall. The U11s also did amazingly in the singles competition. In the doubles, St David’s did even better with Jacob and I finishing as one of the winners in U13s and Ben and Deji being one of the winners in U11s.

All in all, it was an enjoyable day and I was proud to captain the team. Hopefully this will be the first of many ISA table tennis tournaments for the school.
