The children (and their teachers!) had the most fantastic day drumming on djembes, djun-djuns and doumbeks on Thursday 12th October.
We played the drums until our hands hurt, learning African songs and chants along the way. As the team took classes from higher up the school, the children tackled more complex cross-rhythms and put whole pieces together. Everyone was challenged and everyone had a wonderful day.
With many thanks to the PTA for helping us meet the cost of this day and to the London African Drumming company who facilitated it.
Photos from the day can be viewed in the Gallery.
