On Friday 3rd May, Form 5 took a trip to Box Hill to put into practice some of the geography skills they have been learning. The children were put into groups and had a rotation of skills in the morning. This included reading 6 figure grid references, using a compass, matching OS map symbols to their labels, learning about contours and what to pack for mountain survival.
After lunch, the children set off in pairs on a 2 mile walk with a compass. They had to make a lot of observations along the way and use the compass to describe the directions.
Photos from their day can be viewed in the Gallery.
