Form 2 were able to bring history to life when the ‘Teach-it through Drama’ company sent ‘Florence Nightingale’ to St David’s School on Tuesday 1st May.
Miss Nightingale brought with her a selection of Victorian artefacts and told the children about her early life and her dreams of becoming a nurse. The children travelled back in time to experience life as it was for her in Scutari. They had the opportunity to dress up as nurses and soldiers and have fun learning through role-play. The children also learnt about the health hazards of Victorian life, the Crimean War and the nursing methods Miss Nightingale pioneered.
Photos from their fun and informative day can be viewed in the Gallery.
