Florence Nightingale came to visit the Form 2 children on Thursday 2nd May.
She brought with her a selection of Victorian artefacts. Miss Nightingale told the children about her early life and her dreams of becoming a nurse, then took the children back in time to experience life as it was for her in Scutari.
The children had the opportunity to dress up as nurses and soldiers and have fun through role-play. They learnt about the health hazards of Victorian life, the Crimean War and the nursing methods pioneered by Miss Nightingale.
Photos from Miss Nightingale’s visit can be viewed in the Gallery.
