Form 1 visited Guildford Toy Museum on Thursday 18th October as part of their History topic. On arrival, the class dressed up in pinafores and waistcoats to transform themselves into Victorian children for the day. They learnt about and played with a variety of Victorian toys, including spinning tops, skipping ropes made out of bobbins, and hobby horses and examined the different materials that Victorian toys are made out of.
The children also enjoyed learning and singing traditional Victorian rhyming games and visiting the Victorian classroom where they made paper hats, wrote their names on slates and were shown how Victorian children had to always sit straight and to attention!
Photos from their day can be viewed in the Gallery.
