On Friday 28th May, our Juniors (and their teachers too!) had a fantastic day learning about the Vikings. The children were split into their Houses and worked as mixed year groups on the following activities:
- Artefact handling: exploring Viking artefacts and learning about the Viking way of life
- Games: playing Fox and Geese, a Viking game that is a little like draughts
- Quiz: discovering more about the Vikings through a fact-finding exercise.
The afternoon activities were held at the school field, where the children experienced Viking weaponry, armour and spear wrestling! It was an incredibly informative and enjoyable day, which we hope to repeat next year when we will explore a different time period.
Photos from the day can be viewed in the Gallery.
